Gujarat is planning to launch a “startup mission” through a
two-day event in July to support the startup ecosystem in the state. Through
the event Gujarat plans to give investors, incubators and aspiring entrepreneurs
a common platform.
The startup mission will advise the state as well as incubators
on the Centre’s startup policies as well startup applications, help in
co-coordinating between the state and Centre and create a conducive environment
for startups.
Gujarat has been proactive in marketing itself as a startup
centre and even came out with a startup policy in January 2015. The state
government will also be organizing an event dedicated to startups in October
under its Vibrant Gujarat banner. The event that will be organised by
Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb) and Gujarat Industrial Development
Corporation (GIDC) will be hosting 3,500 delegates and over 50 speakers, from
India and abroad. The event will be promoted in entrepreneurial hotbeds such as
Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad and pre-event workshops will be held in
Surat, Vadodra, Rajkot, Anand and Mehsana.
